Since I started watching Avatar: The Last of the Air Bender last year, I've been a huge fan of this amazing series and I always wanted to have something to share with fellow Avatar fans. So here goes.

In this drawing, Prince Zuko practices the Shaolin Snake Form (notice how his hand and thumb resembles the shape of a snake ready to strike) with his Firebending skill. Since the Fire Nation people's fighting styles is the Northern Shaolin, I decided this would look very appropriate with Zuko. Make it even better, I think Uncle Iroh would totally pratice the Dragon form since he is known as "The Dragon of the West" and snake is considered as a baby cousin of the Dragon in many aspects. I added a bit of Daoism principle with the fire in the middle resembles a trigram of solid broken solid lines, which means fire in the Chinese Bagua (Eight Trigrams) [link])

Somehow, he reminds me of Master Yang of Final Fantasy IV, though I know not why I myself think of that.

Thanks. I totally recommend you to follow the series because this series is just too well written. Even its target audience are kids, the complex story and strong design really captures the hearts of many

unfortunately, I dnno the Final Fantasy series well enough. :P But i am just glad you like this drawing.

If you think so, then I guess i did a good job to stay "on model". :D I guess even I am not a great animator, the trainings i had wouldn't allow me to deform my characters.
