If you've watched Book 1 Chapter 7: Winter Solstice Part 1 - The Spirit World, you'd remember the Earth Kingdom elites called Uncle Iroh "The Dragon of the West" when the captured him. Consider him as the dragon, I decided to draw him using the Dragon Form of the Northern Shaolin (which is the Fire Bender's movements). Hence, I had the drawing of Zuko wielding Snake Form as for snake is considered as baby cousin of dragon plus Zuko fits the quick and first strike mentality of Snake Form really well.
Incidentally, Liu Kang from Mortal Kombat series also launches his fireballs in that pose as well.
Very nice, I love the avatar show and Your drawing looks just like Iroh, maybe a little slimer though:> Love this drawing and his attack, Keep up the terrific work
Thanks for pointing out Iroh's slimness. That was unintended and i am not that good with chubby characters. I really wish there's modelsheet of Avatar characters for sure. I am glad you like this drawing.
Thanks! I am so glad you like this one. I really wish I have a good modelsheet of Uncle because its not easy to get his chubby body right. Not to mention i am not good with a proportion like Uncle's. Plus I did cheat a bit in this drawing. Its the left (Iroh's left0 shoulder pad of his. I cannot imagine how it's gonna flap or curve when he pulls his arm straight forward and I feel it breaks the line of action...
But i really like how the Hong Kong comic style effect came out and it worked well with the Dragon theme.
I think Shang Tsung does that pose to throw the fireball too. But here something to think about, have you ever notice how similar the kick pose is for both Snake and Crane Form? (see Zuko drawing). BTW, Subzero uses Dragon Form in MK 5 i think.
